🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1960, near Dover, Delaware, a civilian and military personnel reported seeing three bright objects in a descending line. The objects were described as round and elongated, grapefruit-sized, and emitting a bright yellow glow. The main witness, a plumber, and a military airman both agreed the phenomenon lasted between 7 and 10 seconds, with a faint whistle lasting one second. Although initially considered a meteor, the detailed description and observation raised some questions.
The official investigation concluded it was a meteor, but the detailed accounts from the witnesses prompted further review. The observers were in a car with closed windows, which limited their perception of the exact trajectory. A follow-up interrogation provided more clarity, though minor discrepancies remained. Regardless, the case was classified as an astronomical event, and no physical evidence was found to support another explanation.
