🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1960, two military observers in Germany spotted a raindrop-shaped object with a long tail, similar to a comet's. The object glowed bright yellow-orange and became brighter as it fell. It was estimated to be about half the size of a dime and was moving north at a 45-degree angle from the moon. The witnesses, considered reliable, noted that the object behaved like a falling star but moved more slowly than usual. They also saw large pieces breaking off from the main body.
The reports concluded it was likely a meteor. No photographs or radar were involved, and the sighting lasted between 4 and 5 seconds. Weather conditions were ideal, with excellent visibility and a clear sky. Despite its unusual appearance, the observers reported no sounds or unusual maneuvers, supporting the astronomical hypothesis. The case was classified as a probable meteor and not considered a UFO.
