🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1960, a U.S. soldier stationed in Guantanamo, Cuba, took a photograph that showed a disc-shaped object in the upper left corner. The soldier did not notice the object while taking the photo, which sparked some interest. The image was analyzed by military experts, who concluded that the object was not a UFO, but rather a reflection on a window. The light from the ceiling, reflecting off the glass, created the elliptical shape and the bright spot that gave the illusion of an unidentified flying object.
The technical explanation indicated that the photo was taken inside a building, with the camera aimed toward the southwest. The reflection of the light and the halation effect from the bulb were enough to create the optical illusion. Despite the lack of visual or radar observations, the analysis concluded there was no evidence of an unexplained phenomenon. The case was closed without further investigation, and the photographic material was archived.
