In September 1990, the residents of Murmansk, a polar city in Russia, witnessed an unusual event. While watching the "Vremya" news program, a large illuminated object suddenly appeared above the city. The object, described as a bright sphere, was slowly moving from the sea toward the Kola Peninsula. According to reports, it was flying at an altitude of 25 kilometers, beyond the reach of most commercial aircraft.
The TASS report stated that the air defense forces identified the object as resembling an airship. Although no immediate threats were reported, military personnel continued to monitor the phenomenon. This event, though brief, generated curiosity and commentary in the Soviet press. The object's description and behavior suggest it could have been an unconventional aerial phenomenon, though no further details about its nature have been disclosed.
