🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1960, witnesses in Regina, Canada, observed two white points of light moving first north and then east before fading after an hour. The sighting was confirmed both visually and by radar. A weather balloon (PIBAL) was released near the location, and its movement matched exactly with the object. Military officers concluded the sighting was not a UFO, but a weather balloon, possibly reflected by northern lights causing radar interference. Despite a fighter jet F-101 being scrambled to intercept the object, it failed to make visual or radar contact.
