🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 12-year-old boy in Dayton, Ohio, observed a luminous object on the night of May 18, 1960. The witness described a white or golden light, similar to a star, moving quickly and flickering on and off several times. The case was classified as "insufficient data for evaluation" due to inconsistencies in the testimony, such as the difficulty of seeing through a window at a 70-degree elevation. Although explanations like satellites or astronomical phenomena were ruled out, investigators concluded it could have been an aircraft. The witness's age and lack of photographs contributed to the uncertainty of the report.
The light moved from southeast to northwest and remained visible for 5 to 7 minutes. The report includes details about weather conditions and an assessment of the witness's reliability, considered low due to his youth. Although the object was not identified with certainty, it was suggested that it could have been a civilian aircraft, as planes like a T-33 and a C-46 were operating in the area. The testimony reflected influences from popular UFO stories, adding a subjective element to the report.
