Summary

In May 1960, a witness in Ottawa, Canada, observed a luminous object in the sky moving in a zigzag pattern. Initially mistaken for an aircraft landing, the object displayed unusual behavior such as sudden directional changes. As it approached, it passed behind a cloud, creating a halo effect and emitting no sound. Two observers, a civilian and a member of the Canadian Air Force, confirmed the presence of the object, but no aircraft were found in the area at that time.

The Air Force requested additional information, but no response was received. It was suggested that the object could have been a light refraction due to fog or thermal inversion, but the observers ruled this out after checking with the airport.
