Cigar-shaped UFOs over Loftfabal in 1960

Summary

In May 1960, near Loftfabal in Iran, two cigar-shaped objects were observed flying at low altitude. One appeared from the direction of Soviet Ashgabat, flew over the border area, and returned, while the second continued toward Khakha. Both left a vapor trail that remained intact for two hours before dispersing like contrails. Observers, including the border commander, were certain they were not jet planes and had no wings or visible pilots. Due to the lack of exact duration and additional witnesses, the report could not be fully evaluated.

The report, submitted by USAirA in Iran, was prepared by Colonel L. E. Horras. Although the sighting was recorded, there were no further sightings afterward and no new constructions in the area. The lack of detailed information limited the analysis, but the details provided suggest the objects were unconventional. This case is part of the classified records of Project 10073, which collected reports on unidentified objects.
