🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1960, a witness in Bear Lake, Florida, observed a round object that appeared like a star. The object appeared at 60 degrees above the horizon and moved northwest for two minutes before disappearing at 40 degrees. Although no photos were taken and no optical aids were used, both the witness and officials identified it as a satellite. The rapid decrease in elevation was notable, but no additional data was recorded.
The official evaluation concluded that the object was likely a satellite in orbit, a conclusion that matched the witness's observations. Despite the lack of radar data or images, the object's description and behavior fit what would be expected from a satellite. This case was archived without further investigation, as it was not considered an unexplained phenomenon.
