🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1960, a professional photographer captured an image of an unidentified flying object near Union City, Indiana. The object was moving rapidly from west to east, at a high altitude and without leaving a contrail. Despite the witness's claim that it was not a double exposure, later analyses failed to clearly identify the object. The sunlight behind the photographer may have caused flares that complicated the interpretation of the image.
The Photo Analysis Division at Wright-Patterson concluded that no discernible object was visible in the photograph. The light-colored areas could have been caused by sun flare. Despite the photographer's doubts, the case was closed without a clear explanation, and the image remains an unresolved mystery.
