Summary

In June 1960, an observer on land spotted a flickering red light in the night sky over Vancouver Island. The object appeared northwest of the Big Dipper and disappeared near the star Alioth in the Milky Way. The light vanished twice briefly, without emitting sound or being detected by radar. The sighting lasted 54 seconds, and the object moved from northwest to southeast. Due to the lack of precise data on its location and speed, investigators could not determine its nature with certainty.

Military reports note that there were no photos or radar records, which complicated any conclusive evaluation. It was pointed out that Alioth is not in the Milky Way, suggesting a possible error in the sighting location. Although an aircraft was ruled out, the report did not reach a definitive conclusion, leaving open the possibility of an astronomical phenomenon or an unknown object.
