Summary

In June 1960, a witness in Claremont, New Hampshire, observed a mysterious object with an oval or round shape, reddish to orange in color. The object appeared in the southeast and moved northeast, remaining visible for about 2 to 3 minutes. Its speed was compared to that of an airplane, which caused some confusion about its nature. However, the official report was submitted weeks after the sighting, and the initial information was found to be inaccurate. Because of this, no further attempts were made to gather more data from the witness. The final evaluation concluded that there was insufficient information to identify the object.

The U.S. Air Force, unable to determine the nature of the sighting, forwarded the report to the Air Technical Intelligence Center (AFCIN). The witness requested an explanation, but no clear conclusion was reached. The case was closed with the label "insufficient data," and it was suggested the object might have been a balloon. Despite the lack of concrete answers, the testimony was recorded as part of the efforts of the time to understand unidentified phenomena.
