🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1960, an object was spotted at Truk Atoll in the Pacific. Witnesses described it as a cylinder with a flat top, rounded sides, and a narrower base. Half was red and the other half white. Although various possibilities were considered, such as aircraft or astronomical phenomena, the most likely conclusion pointed to a balloon. The description and movement of the object matched the characteristics of a balloon, leading to the rejection of other hypotheses.
