🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1960, a U.S. officer reported an unidentified flying object over Verona, Italy. The object was described as a bright circular body with a whitish-blue tail, approximately six times longer than its main body. The tail displayed orange and red hues, and the object was traveling at high speed from south to north. The primary observer, a colonel, saw the phenomenon for about 8 seconds before it disappeared. Additionally, at least two children and several non-commissioned officers in the area confirmed the sighting, though with fewer details. A U.S. Army major in Livorno also reported a similar observation around the same time, reinforcing the credibility of the account. Despite multiple sightings, the nature of the object could not be conclusively determined.
