🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1960, a couple in Charleston, West Virginia, observed a bright object resembling a basketball with a small teardrop-shaped tail. The object emitted a white-hot glow and moved in a straight path low over the trees. The sighting lasted 10 to 15 seconds, and the report concluded it was likely a slow meteor. Despite ground fog, the witnesses described the object in detail without optical aids. The report was reviewed by multiple Air Force units, but no conclusive non-natural explanation was found.
