🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Texas described a red object with jagged edges moving rapidly across the sky. The event occurred on the early morning of July 22, 1960, just 4.5 miles south-southwest of Fort Worth. The observer, an aerospace industry worker, reported that the object flickered like a star and moved in a straight line, rising and falling before vanishing suddenly. Despite fighter jets from Hensley Field being on exercise at the time, there was no confirmation they identified the object. The description did not match conventional objects or known astronomical phenomena.
The classified report was distributed to several Air Force units for further investigation. It noted that the witness was considered "fairly reliable" and no physical evidence was found. The Air Force requested contacting other witnesses and pilots in the air at that time for more details. Although a meteor was considered, the object's description and behavior did not align with typical natural phenomena. The case remained without a clear explanation.
