🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1960, a witness in Arnold, California, described an unidentified flying object that resembled a spinning top. The object was initially silent but emitted a jet-like whistling sound without additional noise. It traveled at high speed and disappeared behind a dense forest. Although no photos or additional data were recorded, investigators concluded it was likely a bright meteor. The lack of detailed information hindered a more precise evaluation, but the general description pointed to a natural phenomenon.
The official Air Force response indicated there was no evidence that UFOs were extraterrestrial or a threat to national security. In this case, the object was considered consistent with a bolide-type meteor, based on the duration of the sighting and the witness's description. Despite a request for additional information, the report was not completed, limiting further analysis. In any case, no unusual activity was recorded, and no further follow-up was deemed necessary.
