🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1960, an officer and a navigator on Hachijo Jima island observed a white, elongated object the size of a matchhead. The object followed a smooth curved trajectory and disappeared into the clouds. The sighting lasted five minutes and no photos were taken. The witnesses, considered reliable, could not find a conventional explanation for what they saw.
Military officials concluded the phenomenon could be related to "Echo I," a previously documented aerial anomaly. Although balloons, aircraft, and astronomical explanations were ruled out, the data was insufficient for a definitive evaluation. The report was archived and sent to various air intelligence units for further analysis.
