🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A pear-shaped object the size of a basketball was observed in Duluth, Minnesota, on September 9, 1960. Military witnesses described it with bright green edges, a white center, and a yellow tail that tapered. The object did not travel as fast as a meteor and vanished instantly after five to six seconds. Although considered possibly a very bright meteor, no physical evidence or photographs were found to confirm its identity. The air base submitted the report to several air intelligence units, keeping the event secret to avoid public speculation.
The report includes testimonies from various officers and military technicians who observed the object without optical aid. Weather conditions were clear with good visibility, and no balloon or aircraft releases were recorded in the area. Despite detailed descriptions, no physical evidence or images were found. The document concludes by suggesting it might have been moon dust, though this theory was not confirmed. The nature of the sighting was deemed sensitive, so it was decided not to share the information with civilian media.
