🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1960, hundreds of people in Fargo and Grand Forks, North Dakota, observed a bright object rapidly descending. It appeared green-white, the size of a dime, and had an oval shape. Both civilians and military personnel reported it, and several civilian aircraft also saw it. Although the object was visible for only 2 to 3 seconds, its large size and high altitude suggested it could be a meteor. Witnesses on the ground and in the air agreed on the description, reinforcing the possibility of an astronomical phenomenon.
The official report considered it likely a meteor, but other possibilities were not ruled out. The object's unusual nature and rapid descent caused some confusion, especially due to the number of witnesses. Although no photos were taken, the agreement between ground and air observers indicated the object was at a high altitude. In the end, it was concluded to be a natural phenomenon, but the event's unusual characteristics made it an interesting case for UFO files.
