🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Morocco reported a bright orange-red object moving at high speed. The report describes a round object, between the size of a basketball and a softball, observed by a U.S. Air Force civil engineer. The observer noted the object moving in a straight path, about 60 degrees above the horizon, at a speed estimated to be six times faster than Echo I, a known satellite. The observer heard a sound similar to a high-flying multi-engine aircraft, which stopped when the object vanished. Although initially considered a possible meteor, later analysis suggested it was an astronomical phenomenon, likely a meteor. However, the lack of multiple witnesses and the short duration of the sighting (3-5 seconds) introduced some uncertainty. The report concluded there was insufficient data to classify the object as unidentified.
