🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A pilot with TransTexas Airlines reported a bright object moving at high speed in 1960. The sighting occurred over El Campo, Texas, and was classified as likely a meteor. The object had no defined shape, appeared like a bright star, and vanished quickly. The report concluded there was no evidence it was a non-astronomical object.
The pilot observed the object from his aircraft, flying at 6,000 feet. The object appeared at his 10 o'clock position and disappeared at his 12 o'clock position. Although no photos were taken, the report noted no signs it was a balloon, aircraft, or any other non-natural object. The lack of additional data led to the conclusion that it was likely a common meteorological phenomenon.
