🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An experienced pilot reported a multicolored luminous object in 1960 over Salina, Kansas. The T-33 observed a flash and streak of light for 30 seconds. The pilot, with 20 years of experience, ruled out a falling star. A meteorite or satellite reentry were considered. Later analysis pointed to the reentry of Discoverer XVI. The duration and colors supported this theory. Though initially intriguing, it was concluded to be a natural phenomenon.
