Summary

A witness in Morocco reported a bright ball with a long white tail on the night of September 20, 1960. The object was seen for 3 to 5 seconds, moving from 310 to 130 degrees, disappearing near the horizon. The observation occurred in complete darkness, with no moon or clouds, and unlimited visibility. The white trail persisted for several seconds after the object passed, drawing the observer's attention.

Military personnel concluded the phenomenon had all the characteristics of a fireball, a bright meteor entering Earth's atmosphere. No photos were taken, but the report was sent to several air and space tracking units, including Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio and installations in Spain and Italy. Although the origin was not confirmed, the report ruled out a balloon, aircraft, or other astronomical event.
