🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1960, a Roswell police officer in New Mexico observed a luminous object described as a bottle with an orange tail. The object appeared suddenly in the sky, drawing attention due to its vivid color, and moved eastward before disappearing after a few seconds. Although initially considered a UFO, investigators concluded it could be a meteor. The officer's description aligned with other sightings in the region, supporting the theory of a common astronomical event.
The observation was officially recorded and shared with several military bases and civilian authorities. Despite a lack of additional confirmation, the report was deemed reliable due to the professionalism of the witnesses. There was no evidence of unusual aerial or meteorological activity to explain the phenomenon, keeping the possibility of an astronomical event open. The case, though not definitively resolved, was archived as likely a meteor, without the need for a more exotic explanation.
