🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1960, a witness in Marion, Indiana, observed a luminous phenomenon described as a green flame, similar to burning copper. The object appeared at 45 degrees from the horizon and disappeared at 10 degrees, remaining visible for only two seconds. Although initially considered the possibility of a man-made object, such as one of the Russian bodies that reentered that year, the data points more toward a bright meteor or fireball. These celestial bodies often disintegrate and burn up before reaching the ground, which fits the witness's description.
