Summary

In 1960, a mother and her son from Westford, Massachusetts, reported an encounter with an unidentified flying object. While driving on Concord Road, they observed a large circular object hovering about 150 feet above the ground. The object had six large "picture" windows in a row and a very bright interior that did not penetrate the surface. The mother and her son decided to get out of the car and walk under the UFO, describing its surface as a dark blue satin finish. The object moved in a circular motion and disappeared quickly. The incident lasted around 22 minutes, and although they initially felt fear, they ended up with a sense of calm and curiosity. This case was considered an unreliable report because the information came secondhand and the object could not be visually verified.

The report was submitted by a witness who mentioned having seen the same UFO in April 1960, but only for a few seconds. Despite other investigators attempting to locate the object, they could not see it. This case was included in the NICAP files, an organization dedicated to investigating aerial phenomena. Although there was no physical evidence or photographs, the detailed testimony and specific description of the object generated interest among ufologists. The incident reflects the confusion and mystery surrounding UFO reports at that time, where many people sought rational explanations for the inexplicable.
