🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1960, a couple in Deberry, Texas, observed a rocket-shaped object, thin and bright, crossing the sky toward the north. The object, described as blue-green in color, left a reddish trail after it disappeared. The sighting lasted between 1 and 2 seconds, and no sound was heard. The witnesses, considered very reliable, compared the phenomenon to German WWII rockets they had seen during the war.
The U.S. Air Force concluded it was likely a meteor, given the description and duration of the event. Although the witness ruled out a weather balloon, meteorological data and the object's trajectory supported the astronomical explanation. This case is part of the many UFO reports analyzed during the Cold War.
