🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1960, multiple witnesses in Montana and Canada reported a mysterious object shaped like a round cone, the size of a basketball. They described colors such as blue, red, green, white, and orange, and noted that the object was brighter than a star. It was moving northeast, appeared to be tumbling, and disappeared behind mountains and the horizon. The sighting lasted five minutes, and although 13 different sources provided reports, it was unclear if all witnesses agreed on the details. The lack of photographs and inconsistencies in descriptions made evaluation difficult.
The U.S. Air Force concluded there was insufficient data to identify the object. Explanations such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena were dismissed, but no definitive UFO confirmation was made. The presence of a known aurora in the area added further complexity. Despite the relatively long duration of the sighting, it was not classified as a meteor. This case remains an enigma in UFO history.
