🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An object trailing intense smoke crashed near Gardner-Athol, Massachusetts, on October 21, 1960. Witnesses reported the object hitting the ground and bursting into flames, but no further details were obtained. Military and civil authorities were notified, though the object was not found.
The evaluation suggested the possibility of a meteor, as no red color—typical of a decaying satellite—was observed. Despite investigations, the phenomenon could not be conclusively identified.
