🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A pilot reported a spherical object the size of a silver dollar, descending vertically with a smoke trail. Initially described as a falling star, the object extinguished before hitting the sea. Analysts concluded it was a meteor based on its description and behavior.
The sighting occurred west of Luzon, Philippines, with details including a vertical course and no photographs. Although no radar confirmation or images were obtained, the pilot's reliable testimony supported the conclusion that it was an astronomical phenomenon.
