🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A bright unidentified object was observed across the Midwest United States on November 23, 1960. Witnesses reported a luminous object, brighter than any star, appearing reddish-white with a long white trail. Some saw one object, others two, and several observers agreed it was not a balloon. Military and civilian authorities suggested the phenomenon might be linked to the Tiros II satellite launch. Despite investigations, no definitive explanation emerged, though meteors and conventional aircraft were ruled out.
