🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1960, at Bitburg Air Base in Germany, three civilian observers reported a luminous object that outshone the stars. The phenomenon, which lasted two hours and 25 minutes, displayed red lights at the bottom and alternating green and white flickering lights at the top. It moved slowly from east to west, crossing the sky from horizon to horizon. Due to its speed, observers ruled out the possibility of it being an airplane. Although a balloon was considered, no confirmation was received. The information was sent to military authorities, but no response or resolution followed.
The official report did not reach a clear conclusion, as the data was insufficient for a precise evaluation. It was noted that the object did not match any known Earth satellite or space probe. The lack of photographs and imprecise data limited the analysis. Despite subsequent investigations, the case remained unresolved, adding to the list of unexplained phenomena that continued to intrigue authorities during the Cold War.
