🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A round object with red and green lights was observed in Anchorage, Alaska, in December 1960. Three observers at Anchorage International Airport spotted it with binoculars for 14 to 17 minutes. The object made no sound or trail and moved in a straight path from northwest to southeast. Despite its unusual features, investigators concluded it was a radar echo, likely caused by a balloon or astronomical phenomenon.
The report notes this was not the first sighting of the object, as it had been seen before following similar patterns. After correlating data with the Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska, the final evaluation classified it as "Echo I," a category indicating an unidentified phenomenon but attributable to natural or known causes.
