🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1961, an observer in the Atlantic reported an object traveling at high speed in a 130° direction. It was described as resembling a satellite and aligning with the star Vega, matching in brightness. The report, from a military source, lacked photographs and precise details about the observer's vessel, making evaluation difficult. While the possibility of an artificial satellite or meteor was considered, the data was insufficient for a definitive conclusion.
The lack of detailed information, including the identity of the ship that made the report, hindered any follow-up investigation. This case was added to the many unresolved reports of the time, where confusion between natural and aerial phenomena was common. Despite the brief sighting, the testimony was officially recorded and archived for future reference.
