A witness at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany reported in February 1961 a bright white object resembling a very close star. The object, about the size of a baseball held at arm's length, left no trail and made no sound. It moved from southwest to northeast, passing through clouds and disappearing after 8 to 12 seconds.
