🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 1961 report describes a bright amber-colored object seen near Cape Canaveral. The sighting mentions a one-foot diameter object that rapidly ascended into the sky, moving from SW to NE. Witnesses heard no sound, and the object was described as circular with two wings forming a parabola. The observation lasted about 90 seconds.
The location of the sighting was approximately 150 nautical miles east of Cape Canaveral. Investigators concluded the object could be a rocket or missile, as it coincided with a Titan missile launch that day. Although initially considered a balloon or astronomical phenomenon, the flight path and timing point to a more earthly explanation.
