🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1961, a woman in Bark River, Michigan, observed a bright red object the size of an orange. The object projected light rays forward and moved very slowly northward. The sighting lasted about 10 minutes and no sound was heard. The woman and her daughter confirmed the object's presence, which disappeared behind some trees. Despite investigations, no conventional explanation was found for the phenomenon.
The description of the object did not match that of a balloon, aircraft, or astronomical event. Investigators concluded that the object could not be identified with the available data. There were no aircraft in the area and no attempt at interception. The official report classified it as "unidentified" until further information could be obtained. The observation, though brief, was clear and detailed, and no conventional possibility was ruled out.
