🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
On March 4, 1961, an observer in Lakenheath, England, spotted an object falling toward Earth. Moving from west to east, approximately 20-25 miles away, it burned with a bright blue and white light while emitting red sparks. Seen at an elevation of 60 degrees and an azimuth of 270 degrees, the object was described as possibly astronomical or meteorological. No photographs were taken, and the data was insufficient for a definitive evaluation, though the description aligned with common atmospheric phenomena.
The report was sent to several military and intelligence units, including the ATIC, indicating some level of interest. Despite no recorded reentry that day, the object's color and trajectory fit within the range of typical meteorological events. The document remained classified until 1961, but no evidence suggested the object was of non-terrestrial origin.
