Summary

In March 1961, a U.S. Air Force officer reported the observation of two mysterious objects in the Pacific. The first had an oval shape, while the second was described as a five-inch pencil-like object. Both were separated by a quarter of an inch and moved in formation, with the longer object closely following the shorter one. Initially, they were thought to be a balloon or a meteor, but witnesses noted that the objects glowed white, turning orange just before disappearing. This observation was recorded in an official report and shared with several government agencies.

The report details that the observer, 1st Lieutenant David Daus, was aboard an RC-121 aircraft at 11,500 feet. The second object, with a tapered rear, had no tail, raising doubts about whether it could be a natural phenomenon. Additionally, the event occurred at night, about 30 degrees above the horizon. Although several explanations were considered, such as meteors or satellites, no definitive conclusion was reached. The report was classified as "unclassified" and archived under Project 10073.
