Summary

A surveillance aircraft spotted a bright object resembling a planet, but it was not a known satellite. The observers, a navigator and a commander with extensive experience, saw a reddish-white object the size of a pinhead for two minutes. It moved west to east at a high altitude and disappeared on the horizon. Although its behavior suggested an object in orbit, calculations ruled out it being a satellite or the Echo I balloon.
