🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1961, a 15-year-old in Wantagh, New York, observed a delta-winged object moving from north to south. The witness described it as having two red and three white stripes, plus three blue lights on its underside. The object was visible for 20 to 30 seconds, accelerated, stopped mid-air, and then ascended vertically before disappearing. The report includes a drawing of the object.
Despite the detailed description, the official conclusion was that it was an aircraft. Investigators suggested the movement could be explained by an aircraft banking and climbing. The report was submitted in 1964, years after the event, and deemed too old for further investigation. No physical evidence or photos were found, and part of the description was attributed to the youth's imagination.
