🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1961, a civilian observer reported a bright object moving at high speed over the Atlantic. The sighting, recorded on a Project 10073 record card, describes an object seen visually from the ground. Although no photos were taken, the witness described it as very high and fast. The possibility of it being a satellite or meteor was considered, but no definitive conclusion was reached. The lack of additional data kept the mystery around the observation.
Identification options included balloon, aircraft, astronomical phenomenon, or satellite. However, the final evaluation concluded that there was insufficient information to determine the object's nature with certainty. This case reflects the common ambiguity in many reports from that era, where technological limitations and lack of concrete evidence made precise classification difficult. Despite that, the testimony remains an interesting record of an unresolved observation from the past.
