🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Falls Church, Virginia, reported a bright white object in the sky on May 24, 1961. The object was observed for 20 minutes and appeared as a solid, silvery light. Seen through binoculars, it moved slowly before separating and vanishing. Investigators concluded it was likely a balloon, as its behavior and appearance matched previous balloon sightings. There was no evidence suggesting it was an aircraft or an astronomical phenomenon. The witness also noted the object was extremely high, supporting the balloon theory. Despite the long observation time, no additional details were recorded that suggested an unconventional explanation.
