🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Stanley, Idaho, reported a shiny, stationary object in the sky in May 1961. The object, described as a "cujt" (likely a transcription error), appeared as luminous as a pearl. Clouds moved around it, creating confusion about its nature. The official report classified it as a lenticular cloud, common in the area due to mountains and wind direction. The witness, a qualified observer with military and scientific experience, couldn't identify it as a balloon, aircraft, or astronomical object. Despite the object remaining visible for 10 minutes, its disappearance behind a larger cloud suggested it wasn't a conventional celestial phenomenon. The Air Force concluded there was insufficient data to label it as a UFO, but the testimony highlights the uncertainty and complexity of UFO sightings from that era.
