🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A white, round light was observed in July 1961 above Tachikawa Air Base in Japan. Three military mechanics, familiar with aircraft in flight, reported seeing a steady, white light slightly brighter than stars but not as bright as Venus. The light moved slowly, changed direction, and increased speed before gradually fading out after 15 minutes.
Weather conditions were ideal: clear night, full moon, and excellent visibility. Wind patterns at altitude matched the object's movement. Although no official balloon launch was confirmed at the base, the data suggested it could be a balloon carrying a small light, which ascended and disappeared. The official evaluation did not conclude definitively, but the evidence pointed to a conventional explanation.
