🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1961, a teenager in Brooklyn observed a luminous object in the sky that he believed was a satellite. He described a white star-like point, moving northeast with a straight path and no change in speed. The official report linked it to the Echo I satellite, launched by the United States. Two days later, the same witness saw another object with similar features, but in a slightly different direction.
The description, along with the absence of noise and constant trajectory, matched the known characteristics of a satellite. Although initially reported as a UFO sighting, the investigation concluded it was a space object visible to the naked eye. The testimony included details about the weather (clear sky), the duration of the sighting (5-10 minutes), and a visual comparison with the Echo I satellite, helping to confirm the identification.
