🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1961, a physician in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, observed a very bright point of light in the sky. The object moved in a straight line from the north to the southeast, maintaining a consistent course for 2 to 4 minutes. The witness, using binoculars, noted that the light dimmed as it moved away. Weather conditions were favorable, with scattered clouds and visible stars. Although the observer thought it might be ECHO I, a satellite of the time, calculations from the Smithsonian Observatory indicated that the trajectory did not match. The nature of the object remains unresolved.
