🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1961, a U.S. Air Force officer in Okinawa observed a dozen objects in the night sky. Each one glowed intensely, leaving luminous trails similar to shooting stars. The witness, an experienced captain, described curved paths and sudden directional changes, initially causing confusion. However, investigators concluded it was a meteor shower, common during that time of year.
Although some objects disappeared instantly, others followed different paths due to nearby city lights. The speed and behavior of the objects, along with the location of their origin, matched an astronomical event. In the end, any non-natural explanations were dismissed, and the sighting was attributed to an August meteor shower.
