🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1961, a witness in Kelowna, Canada, reported a red object the size of a dime descending continuously for 5 to 10 seconds. The sighting was classified as a possible meteor, with no evidence suggesting it was an unidentified object or a threat to national security. Although multiple calls were received from people at an open-air movie theater, no photos or additional data were obtained. The report concluded it was likely a common astronomical phenomenon.
The case was recorded by the U.S. Air Force under AF IN 46225. Despite the lack of concrete evidence, the official report classified it as "Probably Astronomical," ruling out any more mysterious explanations. This type of sighting was common in the 1960s, when curiosity about UFOs grew alongside the Cold War. The Kelowna case, though brief, represents one of many sightings analyzed and archived without resolution.
